The Kawa Bonsai Society is a very active bonsai club welcoming anyone wishing to enjoy the art of bonsai. Kawa Bonsai Society’s goal is to advance the art of bonsai through education and programs, like Joy of Bonsai, where bonsai artists from all over the world are invited to share their knowledge of the art of bonsai. Our meetings host a new speaker each month on specific topics related to bonsai, their care, and the advancement in the design and art of bonsai. We welcome members from all parts of Florida along with members from other states who would like to advance their knowledge of bonsai.
Kawa in Japanese means River. The club was named by Bonsai master John Naka and founded by Tom Zane. Kawa is registered annually with the state of Florida as a nonprofit organization and a member of the Bonsai Societies of Florida.
We meet on the third Saturday of every month at 12:00 PM at Schley’s Bonsai and Supplies, 2745 Audubon Ave, DeLand, FL 32720. Information can be found about our meetings on the front page of this website. Meetings are open to all who would like to attend as a member or a guest.
